A project from a community championing rye as an ally for a sustainable future.

Terroir.

Rooted in a sense of place, Resurgence Rye expresses the unique characteristics of The San Luis Valley of Colorado. Formed by volcanic eruptions over 25 million years ago and situated at the headwaters of The Rio Grande, The San Luis Valley is both the highest and largest alpine valley in the world.

The Project champions high alpine rye for its distinctly complex flavor and versatility.

With the belief that environmental sustainability is rooted in sustainable economies, the project is committed to building an equitable market throughout the rye supply chain.

We need a community of buying partners committed to cultivating relationships that support true cost pricing between growers and makers.

Land & WATER.

Finite resources, water and land are the true measure of a healthy economy.

A naturally resilient and hearty winter cover crop, rye improves soil organic matter and excels at holding topsoil. Ultimately, reducing erosion and the intensity of annual valley dust storms. The Rye Resurgence project requires all of its rye to be grown with minimal water usage which dramatically reduces reliance on groundwater and preserves the depleted Aquifer in the Rio Grande Basin.
